How do I enter?

Choose your canvas mesh count (13, 14 or 18) and select any combination of five (5) threads from these Planet Earth Fibers: Silk | 6-ply

Gone Stitching will send your kit right away so that you can get started. The cost of the kit and entrance fee is $25.00 plus shipping.

Prizes

There are two prize categories:

The Designer's Choice will be awarded by a panel of 3 judges, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.
The People's Choice will be awarded according to votes placed online, with 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes.

1st Prize: A ring of single ply or 6 ply Planet Earth fiber silk (retail value, $1,000)
Along with this, the winner gets free framing by Rob from the Framed Image, both the judged and people's choice winners. Not only does Rob do a beautiful job, but he comes to our store and meets with our customers, helping them choose frames. We are lucky to have him.!

2nd Prize: A Gone Stitching original design canvas, kitted with Planet Earth Fibers (retail value, $200)
3rd Prize: A small Gone Stitching original design kitted with Planet Earth Fibers (retail value, $100)

Contest Rules:

1. All entries must use the starting kit from Gone Stitching. The entrance fee is non-refundable. The starting kit will include a 10x10 inch canvas with a 6x6 inch square drawn in the center, as well as the five threads chosen. All entries must be based on the theme, "Our World"

2. Five threads from Planet Earth Fiber (1-ply or 6-strand silk) must be used in the design. Entries must show which Planet Earth Fibers thread was used and where it was used in the design. Entrants may then use any other thread from any other company, as well as beads or other embellishments to complete their design.

3. All entries will be judged based on the following criteria: 1/3 creativity, 1/3 technical merit, and 1/3 interesting use of the sponsor's thread.

4. All entries will be photographed for the purpose of posting online by www.gonestitching.net and www.planetearthfiber.com for voting for the People's Choice category. The winning entries will be photographed and posted in print and on the websites listed above. Winners also agree to have their entries shown at trade shows.

Tony Minieri is a world class needlepoint and embroidery teacher and designer. Tony was formally educated at the Stevens Institute of Technology and is affiliated with ANG, NETA, EGA and NAN. His needlework education includes the National Seminar, Callaway School of Needlearts, ANG and EGA workshops and Level 1 Certification (NAN). He has taught at Callaway for many years, TNNA, ANG and EGA chapters. His accomplishments include commercial designs for Lois Caron and the production of stitch and thread guides for Sunrunner and Renaissance Designs. Tony's gorgeous designs, his fabulous colour sense, and his passion for innovative stitching, make him truly a 'shining light' in our needlepoint world.

6. Winners will be announced September 6, 2010 on the Gone Stitching podcast on BlogTalkRadio, as well as on the websites listed above, and in print.
